IBM Mentorship
Independent Study and Mentorship is a rigorous program in which students experience industries. It encourages creating connections and building up a network with professionals in the real world.
With this program, I was able to explore the field of
UI/UX design.
My Mentors
These are the two mentors that have guided me through the structure of designs in the real world. They have taught me about the collaboration required in the industry as well as how the whole design process works overall. I thank them for their time and effort in teaching me about what they do and how they do it.
Research Assessments
An in-depth look at Graphic Design using databases and other trustworthy sources as a foundation of understanding. Rather than a summary of the sources, research assessments are used to explain what I know about the subjects and my takeaways.
Weekly Reflections
Summaries that look back at the week's progress in an Independant Study and Mentorship program I have done. These weekly reflections consist of my understanding and takeaways from activities related to my mentorship and the program I have done weekly.
My Journey
Playback Deck
Prototyping
Simply College (Final Prototype)
This was the start of the mentorship in which I first created a proposal on how to tackle the issue: Finding a safe way for high school seniors to explore colleges from home. In this playback deck, the basics of pitching to stakeholders using personas and emotional appeal of storyboards are used.
I had to go through and create multiple iterations and prototypes to create a refined final prototype. This started from translating ideas pitched in the Playback deck into low-fidelity panels that focus on the overall layout. This was then slowly with criticism and time refined.
For my Final Product I had created a design prototype using a design software known as Figma. This prototype is a functioning clickable prototype.
